Toenail Treatments in Denver
Expert Care for Painful Toenails

Toenail Conditions We Treat
Ingrown Toenails
An ingrown toenail occurs when the edge of the nail presses into or grows into the surrounding skin. It most commonly affects the big toe and can cause pain, redness, swelling, drainage, and sometimes infection. Mild cases may improve with conservative treatment. Painful, recurrent, or more advanced ingrown toenails may benefit from a simple in-office toenail procedure.
Fungal Toenails
Toenail fungus, also called onychomycosis, can cause a toenail to become yellow or discolored, thickened, brittle, crumbly, or distorted. Because several other nail conditions can resemble fungus, podiatric evaluation is important before beginning treatment.
Thick and Deformed Nails
Toenails can become increasingly thick or deformed with age, trauma, and other causes.
Very thick nails can become uncomfortable inside shoes and may be difficult or unsafe to trim at home.
Dr. McNelly will professionally trim and reduce thickened toenails to decrease their bulk and improve comfort.
