Even when these diagnoses are established, insurance coverage is spotty due to poor logistics and policies. Most of our patients purchase stockings online, through our clinic, or through other retailers. If insurance coverage for compression stockings is warranted, we work with local medical supplies companies to help patients obtain the coverage they n
Vein Procedure FAQ
Is anesthesia used for varicose vein procedures?
Our office-based vein procedures do not require general anesthesia, monitored anesthesia care (MAC), or physician-directed IV sedation. We may prescribe oral sedation medications prior to your visit to help you feel at ease with the procedure.

Are the vein procedures painful?
A little. Our procedures are all office-based and minimally-invasive, and you can expect small amount of discomfort during the procedure. Overall, our vein procedures are extremely well-tolerated, and most of our patients thought that the discomfort was “not as bad as they thought” and that the procedures went faster than they had in mind.
What is the downtime after varicose vein treatment?
All our patients walk out of the clinic under their own power. Your recovery time varies based on the severity and the procedures you received. For office workers, most patients can return to work the very next day. For more physical jobs, you may receive recommended time off of 2-10 days of time off work after a procedure.
Can I exercise after vein treatment?
We recommend frequent walking right after a vein procedure to prevent blood clots. In general, we ask patients to avoid strenuous exercises for 2 weeks after a procedure.
